CKHA welcomes two new pysicians

Chatham-Kent Health Alliance is welcoming Dr. Mohamad Fawaz Dawamneh who has joined the Laboratory Department as a Pathologist and Dr. Menakor Nenwon who has joined as a Hospitalist.

These physicians bring expertise and commitment to patient-centered care to their new roles at CKHA, hospital officials say.

“We are delighted to welcome Dr. Dawamneh and Dr. Nenwon to CKHA,” said Dr. Zeke Milkovic, Acting Chief of Staff at CKHA, in a media release.

“Their extensive experience and commitment to excellence in healthcare will be a tremendous asset to our medical team and the community.”

Dr. Dawamneh, formerly the Head and Medical Director of Laboratory Medicine in Fredericton, New Brunswick, has a diverse career spanning multiple countries and institutions.

Dr. Dawamneh initially practiced as a General Practitioner in Syria and Saudi Arabia before pursuing Residency in Combined Anatomic and Clinical Pathology at Brown University, Rhode Island.

His dedication to healthcare led him to further specialize with Fellowships in Cytopathology at Wayne State University, Michigan, and Surgical Pathology in Pennsylvania.

Certified by the American Board of Pathology in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology and Cytopathology, Dr. Dawamneh spent nearly two decades as a Consultant Pathologist in Saudi Arabia before relocating to Canada.

“I am thrilled to move to the beautiful city of Chatham and join the medical staff at CKHA. In particular, I am excited to work with such a wonderful pathology team,” said Dr. Dawamneh, in a press release.

“I hope that I will contribute positively to the medical practice at CKHA by using and sharing my knowledge, skills and experience to provide the highest standard of patient care.”

CKHA would like to also welcome Dr. Menakor Nenwon to the Hospitalist team.

Dr. Nenwon is a dedicated and accomplished medical professional with a diverse background in both health education and clinical practice.

He earned a Bachelor of Science from Cuttington University in Liberia in 2008, followed by a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery from the University of The Gambia in 2016.

In 2020, Dr. Nenwon completed a Master of Public Health at the University of Toronto before continuing his clinical education at Western University’s Family Medicine Residency program, completing his two-year residency at CKHA.

Dr. Nenwon’s passion for hospital medicine will continue to make a great impact in the community of Chatham-Kent as a full-time Hospitalist at CKHA.

Dr. Nenwon is excited to begin his full-time position at CKHA.

“Remaining at the hospital where I trained is more than a professional decision – it’s a heartfelt commitment. By working alongside the mentors and preceptors who shaped me I honour their wisdom and guidance” said Dr. Nenwon.

“Serving the community that welcomed me with open arms fills me with a deep sense of purpose. Every day, I strive to offer my skills, compassion, and dedication to those who need it most, ensuring that the care I provide reflects the values instilled in me by those who taught me. This journey is a tribute to my mentors and a promise to my neighbours, reinforcing my belief in the power of community and the importance of giving back.”
