With heavy hearts we announce that Stephen Hawke passed peacefully on Wednesday, May 7, 2025 at the age of 67.
He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Connee and his little fur baby Lola.
Stephen is predeceased by his parents Beryl and Harry Hawke, who he missed greatly after their passing, and his loving grandparents Hilda and Harry Hawke (England) and Laura and Tom Kemp (England).
He is survived by extended family in Canada, England and Australia.
In Canada he will be missed by his cousins Julie Jump (Ray) and Phil Andrew (Catherine) as well as Connee’s family, Pat Smith, Carol Woodcock, Janice and Mike MacKinnon, Glen Smith, Chris, Jeff and Crystal MacKinnon, Cheryl Deschamps and family, Linda Swain and family and his lifelong friend Keith Woodcock (Mary). He is predeceased in Canada by his uncle Colin and aunt Sylvia Andrew, his mother-in-law Donna Smith and his brother-in-law Bob Smith.
In Australia he will be missed by his beloved aunt Joan Bailey and cousin Ian Bailey (Belinda) and their family. He is predeceased by his fun-loving uncle Jim Bailey. Thank you, AJ, for sending us your love and fishes.
In England he will be remembered by his aunt Julie Mugan (Paul), who was more like a big sister to him then an aunt, as well as by their family.
Following cremation, family and friends are invited to gather at Riverview Cemetery (Wallaceburg) on Tuesday, May 13, 2025 at 11am for a graveside service where Steve will be laid to rest beside his parents. Arrangements under the care of the Haycock-Cavanagh Funeral Home, 409 Nelson Street in Wallaceburg (519-627-3231). In honour of the greatly appreciated care and compassion received from Chatham-Kent Hospice, please consider donations to them in lieu of sending flowers.
