Update: Wallaceburg man charged stemming from a fatal crash in Sombra back in April

OPP officials allege: An individual has been charged in connection with a fatal single-vehicle collision in Sombra.

On April 29, 2025, at approximately 6:50 p.m., the Lambton County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), responded to a collision at the intersection of St. Clair Parkway and West Smith Line in Sombra.

As an update to the investigation, the two individuals who had sustained life-threatening injuries are now in stable condition and recovering from non-life-threatening injuries.

As a result of the ongoing investigation, a 22-year-old resident of Wallaceburg has been arrested and charged under the Criminal Code with the following offences:

– Operation causing bodily harm (two counts)

– Dangerous operation causing bodily harm (two counts)

– Dangerous operation causing death

– Operation causing death

The accused was held pending a bail hearing and subsequently remanded into custody.

They are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in the City of Sarnia on May 28, 2025.

A publication ban has been issued in this case. As such, no further details will be released.
