Uttering threats and mischief charges laid in Chatham

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On July 16, 2025, at approximately 2:48 p.m., the Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to a report of an Intimate Partner Violence incident in Chatham.

Upon investigation, it was determined that a suspect, a 37-year-old male from Chatham was involved in an on-and-off dating relationship with the victim, a 39-year-old female.

The suspect attended the victim’s residence uninvited, and a verbal altercation occurred.

The individual left the scene shortly.

Upon arrival, officers observed damage to the victim’s vehicle along with a series of threatening text messages directed at the victim.

Following a thorough investigation, officers located the suspect and arrested him. He was charged with the following:

– Uttering Threats

– Mischief

The individual was transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters, where he is currently being held for bail.
