The Chatham-Kent Community Health Centres are expanding their primary care team with the addition of Dr. Andrew Lanz-O’Brien, who will begin his part-time role at the Chatham site on Nov. 21.

Lanz-O’Brien, a Blenheim District High School graduate and recipient of the Governor General’s Academic Medal, first pursued actuarial science at Western University before shifting from software development to medicine.
He later attended Western’s Schulich School of Medicine and completed his residency in Chatham, training with the Thamesview Family Health Team under Dr. David Huffman and Dr. Sheri Roszell during his first year, and with the Chatham-Kent Family Health Team in Blenheim under Dr. Martha Clendenning in his second.
In 2020, Lanz-O’Brien joined the Chatham-Kent Family Health Team in Blenheim as a full-time physician. He will continue his existing practice while providing part-time services with the Community Health Centres.
“I have always loved delivering high-quality outpatient generalist healthcare,” Lanz-O’Brien said. “I am joining the Chatham-Kent Community Health Centres because I believe that their vision of holistic care aligns well with mine, and I feel that we can accomplish a lot of good and help many people together!”
CKCHC executive director Sherri Saunders said the organization is thrilled to welcome him.
“we are honoured that Dr. Lanz-O’Brien chose CKCHC to further expand his primary care practice in Chatham-Kent. Dr. Andrew Lanz-O’Brien brings extraordinary talent to CKCHC, which is a great compliment to the remarkable team we already have in place. We want to thank Dr. Lanz-O’Brien for choosing to join CHC and enabling us to further expand access to primary care and assist in improving the health and wellbeing of the community,” she said.
Lanz-O’Brien will accept new clients registered through the Health Care Connect wait list.
