Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: A 36-year-old Chatham-Kent man is facing a theft charge after police responded to a report of a suspicious person entering an unlocked vehicle on Margaret Avenue early Wednesday.
Officers were called at about 4:23 a.m. and found a man loitering in a parking lot. Police said he was identified during the investigation and found to have a significant number of stolen items in his possession.
He was arrested and charged with theft under $5,000 from a motor vehicle. The man was taken to police headquarters and released with conditions and a court date set for Dec. 29, 2025.
