Woman charged after false fire alarm at Wallaceburg business

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: A 32-year-old woman from Chatham is facing a charge after a fire alarm was intentionally activated at a business on Margaret Avenue.

Chatham-Kent police say officers responded April 12 at about 2:48 p.m. and learned the alarm had been pulled deliberately, prompting an emergency response. The individual had been detained by security before police arrived.

She was charged with false alarm of fire under the Criminal Code and later released with conditions. She is scheduled to appear in court May 20, 2026.
