Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: A 45-year-old Wheatley man is facing an assault charge after an alleged domestic incident on June 5.
Police said they were contacted at about 9:55 p.m. regarding an assault on a woman who suffered minor injuries after being pushed into a fence. The man had left in a vehicle before officers arrived.
Chatham-Kent police notified the Ontario Provincial Police, who located the man in another jurisdiction. Essex OPP arrested him on separate allegations of impaired operation of a conveyance and assaulting a peace officer before turning him over to Chatham-Kent police.
He faces an additional charge of assault and was held for bail.
