With the heaviest of hearts, we sadly announce that Charles ‘Chuck’ Stanley Langstaff left us suddenly to be reunited with his beloved wife Connie on Sunday, July 5, 2026 at the age of 84.
He will forever be loved and missed by his children Allan Langstaff (Kate Knight), Janet Keane (Brian) and Julie Martin (Steve), and his grandchildren who adored their ‘Pop’, Brent (Chelcie), Brooke, Brett, Kate, Jack and Laura. Son of the late Crawford and Leila Langstaff, and sister of Evelyn Benoit. Beloved son-in-law of Clarence and Helen Smith. Specially loved by his extra granddaughter Emma, who gave her time and love so freely to Dad…we will forever be grateful for you.
Dad was a proud farmer his entire life. The land was more than his livelihood—it was his love, his passion, his purpose, and a reflection of the values he carried throughout his life. Through the changing seasons, hard work that many of us can’t imagine, and unwavering dedication, he built a life rooted in his family, perseverance, and respect for the fields he truly loved. He proudly worked alongside his loving family, and lifelong friend, Mike Rottier. He was a reference to many neighborhood farmers on the soil, tile in fields, and what fertilizer to use. Dad just knew it and knew it well.
Above all, Dad was devoted to the love of his life, his wife Connie, with whom he shared 62 years of love, partnership, and treasured memories. Even though Mom’s memory faded, Dad continued to love and care for her. Following her passing just 72 days ago, his heart was never quite the same. While we mourn losing them so close together, we are finding comfort in knowing they are reunited once again after a lifetime spent side by side.
In recent years, Dad’s health began to decline, but he found peace in remaining surrounded by the fields that shaped his life, in his home he built with love with Mom. Looking across the land, he would often share stories of the good times, the challenges he overcame, and the countless memories made with family and friends. The farm remained his constant reminder of a life well lived.
Dad will always be remembered for his bright smile, his warm and strong hugs, and his words of wisdom that always came at the right time. He just knew what to say and had a good story to go along with it. He had a way of making people feel welcome, valued, and understood. Whether sharing a story, offering advice, or lending a hand, he touched the lives of all who knew him with genuine kindness, humility, and genuine care. He truly was the best, and we couldn’t have asked for anything more. His family was his greatest pride and joy. He taught us the importance of hard work, integrity, resilience, and love—not just through words, but through the example he set every day. The lessons he shared and the memories he created will continue to guide us for years. Dad, we will love and miss you, forever.
We would like to extend our heartfelt thank you to the many first responders who answered the call with such care, compassion, and professionalism. Your kindness and support during a difficult time provided comfort to Dad and our family, and your efforts will never be forgotten.
