We are currently seeking an experienced Wills and Estates Law Clerk for our growing
law firm located in Wallaceburg, Ontario.
The successful candidate will have a minimum of 4 years of experience assisting with
drafting estate and power of attorney documents, corresponding with clients, and
administering estates. Experience in real estate law and/or corporate law is an asset.
The responsibilities for the role of Wills and Estates Clerk include:
ļ· Supporting lawyers by assembling and organizing client file information;
ļ· Preparing necessary estate court forms for filing with the court;
ļ· Maintaining lawyersā calendars by scheduling appointments, task lists and other
arrangements as necessary;
ļ· Preparing draft correspondence pertaining to various estates matters for review,
approval, and use by lawyers;
ļ· Serve as a point of contact for clients by providing ongoing file updates;
ļ· Draft Estate Documentation for review, approval, and use by lawyers;
ļ· Corresponding and scheduling meetings with clients; and
ļ· Assisting staff as required.
Qualifications/Experiences
ļ· Experience in a similar role, or Law Clerk diploma;
ļ· Excellent organizational skills;
ļ· Attention to detail;
ļ· Able to prioritize, handle different tasks on a daily basis;
ļ· Outgoing, friendly and a team player;
ļ· Flexible, and able to accommodate to different situations;
ļ· Able to work under pressure/stress;
ļ· Positive demeanor and eager to learn;
ļ· Takes initiative to provide help or assist others;
ļ· Able to work with minimal supervision;
ļ· Able to take instructions and notes via different sources;
ļ· Proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel;
ļ· Basic knowledge of PCLaw; and
ļ· Basic knowledge of Do Process programs i.e Will Builder.
Compensation is commensurate with experience and skill.
Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time
Three (3) month probationary period

Schedule:
ļ· 35 hour work week
ļ· Monday to Friday
ļ· Summer hours
The position does not allow for working remotely
