Assault charges laid in Tilbury

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On July 16, 2024, at 10:33 a.m., police responded to Young Street in Tilbury for an assault investigation.

Police learned the man engaged in a verbal argument with another man.

The argument escalated when he struck the other man, resulting in physical injuries.

The man left prior to police arrival and a warrant was issued for his arrest.

On July 29, 2024, at 9:58 a.m., police located the man on Grand Avenue East in Chatham and arrested him.

He was transported to police headquarters, where he was held pending a bail hearing.

While in police custody the man damaged equipment.

The man is currently facing the following charges: assault and mischief.
