Failing to attend court charges laid in Wallaceburg

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On Thursday, October 3, 2024, at approximately 9 a.m., Chatham-Kent Police received a report of a female laying on the ground in the area of James Street in Wallaceburg, possibly needing assistance.

Officers attended to conduct a wellbeing check, and upon identifying the female, it was learned there was an outstanding warrant for her arrest in relation to failing to attend court in connection to an assault investigation.

Officers confirmed her wellbeing and placed the 27-year-old Wallaceburg woman under arrest on the strength of the outstanding warrant.

Upon arrest, the woman was transported to Chatham-Kent Police Headquarters, where she was processed and held pending a bail hearing.
