The Salvation Army says its Operation Cover Up coat program will not run this year in Chatham-Kent due to ongoing building renovations.
The organization says the upgrades are intended to provide better services in the future, but the lack of space has forced a pause in the annual initiative. The goal is to relaunch the program next year.
In the meantime, donations of coats are still being accepted. They will be made available through Salvation Army Thrift Stores at affordable prices, with support available for those unable to pay. All donated coats will be priced and placed in the stores unless otherwise specified.
Residents in need of a coat are encouraged to contact their local Salvation Army Community Services office in Wallaceburg, Chatham or Ridgetown/Blenheim for assistance.
