Blenheim man arrested after theft in Chatham

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: A 52-year-old Blenheim man has been charged after a theft at a St. Clair Street retail store Sunday evening.

Police say a man entered the business around 7:09 p.m., selected several items, concealed them and left without paying. Officers used surveillance footage to identify a suspect and quickly located him in the parking lot.

He was arrested and charged with theft under $5,000 and possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000. All merchandise was recovered. The man was taken to police headquarters and released with conditions. He is scheduled to appear in court on Jan. 19, 2025.
