The Chatham-Kent Public Library is inviting residents to attend a morning reading and conversation with local author Yejide Kilanko next month.
The event is scheduled for Wednesday, May 13, 2026, at 10 a.m. at the Chatham branch.
Kilanko, a Nigerian Canadian fiction writer who lives in Chatham-Kent, will read from her latest book, What the Eyes See. Written as a picture book for children, the story explores themes of perception, empathy and understanding intended to resonate with readers of all ages.
A conversation with the author will follow the reading, with opportunities for audience questions.
The program is free to attend and is offered with funding support from the Canada Council for the Arts through The Writers’ Union of Canada. No registration is required.
Readers can also explore Kilanko’s other works, including her adult fiction titles Daughters Who Walk This Path and A Good Name, through the library’s catalogue.
