Cause of Wallaceburg power outage unknown

An overnight power outage impacted a number of people in Wallaceburg.

Greg Bartlett, a manager with Entegrus, told the Sydenham Current the outage affected about 800 customers.

“We never found out what the cause of the outage was after doing our patrol,” Bartlett said.

“The crews did some switching to restore power to the area and everything was normal.”

Entegrus initially reported the outage in Wallaceburg on social media at 10:39 p.m., while their final tweet about restoring power to Wallaceburg was sent out at 12:35 p.m.

Some Sydenham Current readers have reported being without power for upwards to three hours.

Power out in Wallaceburg crews have been dispatched

Hydro One officials told the Sydenham Current 1,267 of their customers, which would be outside of the town of Wallaceburg, were without power in the area last night for a total of three minutes.

Dana Gardner, community relations officer for Hydro One, said the outage took place for their customers from 11:46 p.m. to 11:49 p.m. before being restored.

  1. This isn’t the first time it does that at least once a day since they installed those new meters,i think those meters are defective they should be checked.
