Fire on Union Line near Dresden causes $1.2-million in damage

Crews from station #6 – Dresden, Station #5 – Tupperville and Station #7 – Chatham South responded to a fire at 10804 Union Line, just outside of Dresden.

Fire officials say the call came in at 5:35 p.m. on Tuesday evening, April 27, 2021.

Unit 1-13, the Chatham-Kent Police Service and Chatham-Kent EMS were also on scene.

“Firefighters were able to contain the fire to the 60′ by 120′ drive shed and saved numerous exposures including the house, a second barn, a camping trailer, and a semi-truck,” fire officials said in a media release.

“The cause of the fire is undetermined and there were no injuries. Damages estimated at $1.2 million.”
