Police: Cocaine seized after a traffic stop, warrants, thefts, B&E

Warrant arrests

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday morning, just shortly after 8 a.m. police located a female on Jeffery Street in Chatham.

A query of the female revealed that she was wanted by London Police Service.

The 37-year-old Ridgetown woman was arrested and arrangements were made to have her transferred into Londonā€™s custody.

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday afternoon, at approximately 2:15 p.m. police responded to a call for service on Montgomery Drive in Wallaceburg.

Through investigation, police learned that the complainant in the matter was currently wanted by our service for failing to attend court.

The 37-year old Wallaceburg was arrested and released with a future court date of August 27, 2021.

Couple arrested in Chatham

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Just before 5 p.m. yesterday an officer observed two individuals walking on Raleigh Street in Chatham.

The officer queried the two, which revealed they were both wanted by our service.

The 35-year old Chatham man was arrested, transported to Chatham-Kent Police Headquarters where he was lodged pending a bail hearing.

The 48-year old female of Richmond Street in Chatham was also arrested and released with a future court date of September 1, 2021.

Traffic Stop leads to Drug Charges

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday evening at 7 p.m. an officer of the Traffic Unit conducted a traffic stop on Bear Line Road in Dover Township.

Through investigation, the officer located approximately 28 grams of suspected cocaine inside the vehicle.

The 25-year old Coatsworth male was arrested and charged for Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking.

The estimated street value of the seized drugs was $2,800.

He was later released on an appearance notice with a future court date along with multiple provincial offence notices for driving infractions.

Break and Enters in Chatham

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday at 2:14 p.m. Police responded to an address on Park Avenue East in Chatham in regards to a break and enter.

Sometime between August 1 and August 4 unknown suspects entered a shed and removed a weed trimmer valued at $100.

The investigation is ongoing at this time.

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday evening, just before 9 p.m. police responded to an address on Mcnaughton Avenue West in Chatham in regards to a break and enter that had occurred at approximately 3:40 a.m. yesterday morning.

A male party entered into the victimā€™s apartment and stole a bicycle and jewelry.

The estimated value of the stolen items was $600

Through investigation, police were able to identify the suspect.

Police attempted to locate the suspect, however, had negative results.

A warrant has been requested.

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: This morning at 2 a.m. police responded to an address on Wellington Street in Chatham in regards to a break and enter that had occurred.

Upon arrival, police found a glass door to the business smashed and entry had been made.

An unknown suspect entered and stole an unknown amount of costume jewelry.

The investigation is still ongoing at this time.

Warrant arrests

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On August 3, shortly after 1 p.m., a 42-year-old male was arrested on Fifth Street in Chatham, on an outstanding warrant for Mischief Over $5,000 and was held pending a bail hearing.

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: At 2:30 p.m. yesterday, a 58 year old male was arrested on Wellington Street in Chatham, on an outstanding warrant for failing to attend court and was held for a bail hearing.

Parties arrested for theft and possession

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Around 5 p.m., after receiving information of two suspicious males on the property of a business on Charing Cross Road in Chatham, police located and arrested a 35-year-old and a 38-year-old, for Theft Under $5,000 and Possession Under $5,000.

Both were later released from custody with a future court date of September 8, 2021.
