Smashed vehicle window leads to mischief charges in Chatham

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: At 12:43 p.m., police responded to a parking lot on King Street West in Chatham for a mischief investigation.

It was reported a vehicle’s rear window had been smashed.

Surveillance video footage revealed the man threw a rock through the vehicles window as he walked pass.

Officers identified the man and formed ground to arrest him.

Approximately two hours later, officers located and arrested him at Murray Street and William Street in Chatham.

The 31-year-old Chatham man was charged with mischief.

He was transported to headquarters and held pending a bail hearing.
