Family dispute in Chatham leads to assault and uttering threats charges

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: At 6:54 p.m. on July 14, 2024, police responded to a family dispute in Chatham.

Officers learned the man and his grandmother engaged in a verbal argument that escalated when the man made comments to harm his grandmother and proceeded to assault her.

The 25-year-old Chatham man was arrested and transported to police headquarters, where he was held pending a bail hearing in front of a Judge.

He has been charged with assault and uttering threats.
