Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: A 44-year-old Blenheim resident is facing multiple charges after an early morning incident involving a vehicle on Little Street North.
Chatham-Kent police say an officer observed a suspicious individual in a vehicle with the driver’s door open at about 6:24 a.m. on March 25, 2026.
When approached, the individual identified himself but attempted to flee before being quickly apprehended.
Police allege the individual had unlawfully entered the vehicle and disturbed items inside. Officers also determined the accused was bound by conditions not to enter any motor vehicle without permission.
The individual has been charged with attempted theft and two counts of failure to comply with a release order.
The accused was transported to the South West Detention Centre and remanded in custody pending a video court appearance scheduled for April 2, 2026.
